- What is Sharefiles?
Sharefiles is a file hosting provider. We offer online storage/remote backup capacity, sophisticated uploading and downloading tools.
With Sharefiles you can host files, images, videos, audio and flash on the same place.
- Why should I use Sharefiles?
Whenever you need to send a file that is too large for e-mail, Sharefiles can help.
If you need secure remote storage capacity for off-site backups, Sharefiles offers solutions for you.
If you want to access personal data from a variety of computers and don't want to carry around a USB stick, Sharefiles is a perfect way of doing so.
- Can I search for files other people uploaded?
No, because not everyone wishes to share the files they upload with everyone else. This way Sharefiles can be used to share files with anyone you choose to, as well as keep it for yourself as a backup or to download from anywhere in the world.
- What kind of files can be uploaded?
All kinds: from your party photos to an important document.
The only restrictions are for pornography, nudity, sexual images and any kind of offensive material, and, of course, copyrighted material.

- How to delete a file I uploaded?
To delete a file you uploaded you must use Delete Link that was provided to you after the upload proccess.
If you lost your removal code you can simply wait until the file expires so it will be automatically removed from our site.
- How can I enable direct downloads?
Direct download allows you to download a file directly without loading our download page first. This option is available in your account area but only displayed if you are a SharePro user.
- Why is my download speed so slow?
To gain a high download speed we recommend using a download accelerator software to allow multiple connections. Examples for a download accelerator softwares: DownThemAll! (Addon for Firefox), Internet Download Manager, FlashGet, Download Accelerator Plus.
- Can I hotlink the stuff I upload?
No. Hotlinking is not allowed on any kind of files uploaded to our servers.
- What is Remote URL Upload?
You can use this tool to upload directly from a URL to Sharefiles without using your computer resources, it's only work when the URL is a direct download URL. You can use your accounts from other file hosting websites to upload files to Sharefiles, but make sure that your account can "Direct Download" files, like the "Direct downloads" option in "My Account" page here.
You can see the list of accepted file hosting websites also in "My Account" page, put your premium accounts there to use the Remote URL upload tool with these accounts.
- What is URL Leech?
URL Leech is the same as "Remote URL Upload" (see above), but, you don't need to use a premium account on file hosting websites, you can use this tool to upload files to Sharefiles free of charge, but limited bandwidth, as you can see here. You can see the supported file hosting websites in the Home page, once there, choose the option "URL Leech".
You can also download files from our supported file hosting websites, just upload files using this tool and then download from our site.
- How can I upload files that exceed the size of 2GB?
Some web browsers limit the maximum uploaded files size to 2GB. This is a limitation of the web browser itself. Browsers that doesn't limit the files size to 2GB are for example: Google Chrome, Internet Explorer 9 64bit.
- What is a public file?
Public file means that the file can be seen by other users who visit your published files link, you can find that link on My Account page.
